6. Merge Multiple Features Using Dissolve

1. Select the polygon features you want to merge using the select tool.

   
   
   

   

   
   
   

2. Hold down shift and do a multi-select.

   
   
   

   

   
   
   

3. Go to Vector -> Geoprocessing Tools -> Dissolve

   
   
   

   

   
   
   

4. In the Dissolve window, choose the right layer and tick “Selected features only”. Click “Run”.

   
   
   

   

   
   
   

5. The merged polygons will be stored in a temporary layer called “Dissolved”.
